What do you mean, uploading
"Binary" versus "ASCII"?

   Site

   Server

Upload html files in ASCII or text form, graphics files as Binary files.

When you connect to your site or server via ftp, your ftp client software will give you the option of uploading files in one of several different formats.
Just remember to upload all text files, that is, all html code and related text files, in ASCII (text) form. Send graphics to your site as binary files, either as .jpeg or .gif files.

It is possible to upload graphics in text form, but they will not be useable and will not show up on your pages as people browse your site.
